Today’s Daily Happy is No Beast So Fierce: The Terrifying True Story of the Champawat Tiger, the Deadliest Animal in History by Dane Huckelbridge. Since Tiger King was yesterday, I thought I’d share this really interesting book I’ve been reading to go along with it. I’d heard about the Champawat Tiger before, a tiger that killed over 400 (!!!!) people at the turn of the last century and when I saw there was a book out about it, I snagged it in a second. It’s a really interesting history not only of tigers but about where India and Nepal were at in that period and how so many aspects (politics! colonialism! conservationism!) played into what happened. I’m really enjoying it and if you’re on a tiger kick, it’s definitely one to check out.
